“Kavarna Rock Fest”, until 2010 known under the name “Kaliakra Rock Fest”, is a festival of rock and metal music.
Since 2006, the event is held annually in the Black Sea town of Kavarna. This festival turned Kavarna into the rock capital of Bulgaria and helped rediscover the region as an attractive tourist destination. The event is organized by the Kavarna Municipality, following the suggestion of its mayor Tzonko Tzonev, well-known for his love of rock and metal music.
Each year famous artists and bands visit Kavarna from early May to late September. More than 40 world-famous artists, including Dio, Manowar, Deep Purple, Scorpions, Whitesnake, Accept, Nazareth, Saxon, Billy Idol, Twisted Sister, Aria, Lyube, Philipp Kirkorov and many others, as well as many Bulgarian artists - B.T. R., Signal, Hipodil – have played on the stage of Kavarna Rock Fest.
